Week 4  (10/05/2013)
In Numeracy we have been having fun learning about fractions. We have looked at writing newspaper reports in Literacy and have written some super sentences.
Mr Houghton kindly lent us his mountaineering equipment for Geography, so that we could see what a mountaineer would take climbing with him. The best bit was that we could dress up as mountaineers ourselves! In Science we continued with our experimenting of keeping liquid at the same temperature and this time it was warm water.

Summer Week 3  (03/05/2013)
Busy, busy , busy! In Literacy we have written our own newspaper reports after organising the key details and putting them in order of occurance. We chose to write about our Comic Relief fundraiser that we held in School. We practised division and multiplying in Numeracy. We carried out an investigation in Science to see what materials are best at keeping a cup of freezing water cold. We had fun discussing pillow function, dimensions, materials, target market, equipment needed and how we will transfer the design onto the material for our pillowcases.
We have progressed in our games of Hockey and have been learning to stay in position. In Geography we designed our own informative posters showing facts about our chosen mountain.
Have a super Bank Holiday weekend break.

Summer Week 2  (26/04/2013)
This week in Numeracy we have been partitioning numbers to help us multiply. We continued to practice imaginative character and time related openings for our stories in Literacy. In science we used thermometers to accurately gage the temperature of three different bowls of water. Geography was fun as we used netbooks to find facts about mountains. We have been practising sewing and tried tacking, running and back stitch with Mrs Chard.
An assembly by the Air Ambulance Was both enjoyable and informative.
We have also reviewed some of our favourite books and put them on a classroom display so that others can enjoy them too.

Super Performance  (03/10/2012)
What a Dahlicious day we have had. The children in Class 7 looked fabulous in their fancy dress today, thank you for your support with their costumes. The nerves were high today as Class 7 prepared to perform in front of the whole school!!! However the children showed no hint of stage fright as they gave a grade A performance of our class story ‘George’s Marvellous Medicine’ with a twist of ‘gum boots’. We were very proud as a school to see how brilliant our children continue to be.

What we've got in store for you...  (21/09/2012)
Numeracy this week has been focused on the partitioning of numbers. The children have been experimenting with 2, 3, 4 and even 5 digit numbers and breaking them down in to their place values.

Lastly don’t forget Roald Dahl day next Friday is fancy dress.

Our topic as a healthy school was food to help guide our children in healthy and help children understand the importance of a healthy diet. Finally we have had swaps and already the enthusiasm is running through the school, with ‘Gum boots’ music and dance filling the air.
