'Flourish'

We are absolutely thrilled to be the only Primary School in Cornwall to have been selected by Truro Diocese to be a 'Flourish' school.
The heart of this pilot is to develop a worshipping community. As a school, we have partnered with Holy Trinity Church on this project and are so excited to have Lara Moore as our Flourish worker.

The Flourish principles

There are five flourish principles, these are:

1. Young voices
Young people's voices are instinctively at the centre of all leadership decision-making and implementation.

2. Explore faith
Clearly articulated and shared purpose to grow a younger and more diverse community of Christian disciples.

3. Work together
Strategic leadership partnership between school and at least one church community.

4. Welcome community
Intergenerational faith development experiences involving children and their families of all ages.

5. Worship always
Worship that is fully integrated into the regular rhythms, practices, structures and resources of the school's vision for flourishing of children and adults.
What we've done so far:

Lara has been leading a weekly 'Flourish' club; the children have led elements of this themselves, and pupil voice is always an integral part of how the club runs.

We have had a wonderful carol service, which was held at Holy Trinity; Rev Jonathan Huff hosted this event but pupils sung carols and led the readings.

We have had a very successful 'Flourish' event on our school pitch; this was an opportunity for the school community and the church community to join together to be one community. We had a bouncy castle, cream teas, garden games, beat the goalie, splat the vicar and a craft table. It was a truly wonderful event.

We continue to develop strong links with Holy Trinity church; Rev. Jonathan Huff leads our school communions.
