PE at Bishop Bronescombe

Mr Toby Nicholas

Class Teacher and PE Coordinator

As PE Coordinator I see myself as an ambassador for promoting a healthy lifestyle, both physically and mentally, through example. Being the smallest in my cohort I was never the top sports person at school but enjoyed trying my hand at as many activities as possible because I thrived on the social development and values side of being involved. I believe the 'have a go' attitude that was installed in me has helped in all aspects of my life.

Initially my 'go to' sports were table-tennis, tennis, badminton and cricket but in my teens and beyond my main interests have been in surfing, long distance running, mountain boarding and anything involving snow.

I hope to encourage the students I teach through the values I have learned and help nurture and develop not just their skills but passion for partaking in and promoting a healthy, active lifestyle. I aim for the opportunities we provide at BB to enable all children to do this and will continue to work with staff, students, families and the community to make this possible.
